For the camera purchase, we are particularly looking for preserved"values"

Information on buying a Leica

The good news first: Leica cameras and lenses always have a value.

Analog and digital Leica M rangefinder cameras

The Leica rangefinder cameras are rated the highest, such as the classic Leica M2, Leica M3, Leica M4, Leica M5, Leica M6, Leica M6 TTL etc. up to the current digital modelsLeica M8, Leica M9, Leica M9-P, Leica Monochrom, Leica M Typ 240, Leica ME up to the current digital Leica M10 , Leica M10-P, Leica M10-D, Leica M10-R, Leica Q and Leica Q2, Leica SL and Leica SL2.

Even the classic Leica cameras and the corresponding lenses are actively used for photography today, so they are put back into "productive use" and must work perfectly.
Your "old" Leica should be actively photographed again and you should be d therefore probably go to an enthusiastic new owner who appreciates the special value and quality of this traditional camera brand.

Extraordinary classic cameras that are in convincing optical condition therefore receive special attention through workshop testing, includes a review, functional test and cleaning. In the event of technical problems, the camera receives a repair service.

The newer digital Leica M cameras are checked in the workshop, the current firmware is installed and the sensor is cleaned before sale.

Rarities, pre-war and special models , pre-series models (zero series) and prototypes, factory cameras and cameras with small quantities and special serial numbers, special editions, e.g. made for the German Armed Forces or Deutsche Post

The Leica collector's market is a special market where there are still in front of enthusiasts among the collectors who pay very high prices. Here it is above all the international market that brings new prospects, increasingly also in Asia.

Examples for rarities are the classic cameras Leica M3 in olive for the Bundeswehr, Leica M4 Black Paint, Leica MP Hammerstone, Leica M2 Black Paint, Leica M6 special series. But also "newer" special editions like "Safari Set", "Titan Set",  "Your Mark", "Andy Summers" achieve good prices on the collector's market.

However: The number of collector's items in circulation is manageably small. Only very few of the old Leica cameras offered to us are actually a valuable rarity, the vast majority of cameras come from series production.

We are happy to help with the assessment and prepare it our expertise is the basis for deciding how to proceed with the recycling.

The market for Leica rarities and special pieces is mainly found in "closed" collector's and trader circles at specialized stock exchanges and international auctions. This "exclusive" market is limited to very few models and selected serial numbers. In this special market in particular, technical expertise and special market knowledge are crucial in order to be able to recognize and correctly evaluate the rarities at Leica.

Due to our focus - especially on Leica - we have the Experience and also the "network". We are very grateful that we have been able to draw on the expertise of experts from the Leica city of Wetzlar for years when we receive important Leica rarities and rare collectors' items for purchase and evaluation. This gives us and our customers the security of a qualified assessment at all times, especially for special exhibits.

The camera pictured above (middle)  is a common example as is often available and often offered for purchase. Basically no special thing. But who the inconspicuous * on the lens knows about the special feature of this lens. The difference between an everyday offer and a special one Rarity is therefore marginal and probably only through expertise at all recognizable.
